Dave Chan, Founder & Investigator
Dave Chan is a retired police officer with over 25 years experience. He has attained invaluable experience and expertise in leading investigations involving financial and computer crimes, surveillance tactics and operations, missing persons and computer forensics.
Dave was in charge of financial and computer crime teams during part of his time with the RCMP. After almost two decades of experience in investigating complex financial and computer crimes, he has achieved great expertise in fraud, commercial crime, embezzlement, romance and lottery scams, money laundering and internal theft.
As a team leader in charge of surveillance teams in the RCMP, Dave was trained in advanced surveillance tactics and techniques and was often sought after to manage and operate surveillance teams for major operations.
Dave was also in charge of a High Risk Missing Persons Unit in a RCMP detachment. He established an in-depth process in investigating missing persons, thereby contributing to a high success track record, within the unit, for locating missing persons.
Dave was a computer forensic examiner for the RCMP Technological Crime Unit and deemed to be an expert in court. He is a graduate of the computer forensics program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. He also completed a post baccalaureate in Computer Science at Simon Fraser University. Prior to becoming a police officer, he worked as a software developer for IBM Canada.
After a successful and established career in policing, Dave started his own private investigation service and “B.A.R.D Investigations” was born.
